SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla.– Lots of households remaining at hotels in Altamonte Springs and Maitland woke up to discover automobile windows shattered and glass all over the parking area.
Altamonte Springs Cops validate 55 vehicles were robbed Sunday night at the Extended Stay America and Hilton Orlando/Altamonte at State Roadway 436 and Interstate 4.
Maitland Cops stated 14 cars and trucks were broken-into at the Extended Stay America and Courtyard by Marriott at Maitland Boulevard and I-4.
All four hotels are within five miles of each other along the I-4 passage.
Maitland Cops spokesperson Lt. Louis Grindle stated investigators are working with home management to “protect any possible video.”
In most of the burglaries, side windows were smashed so quietly that no one heard it. Cars and truck alarms were never set off.
Wade Forte is among a number of households from North Carolina checking out Main Florida for a soccer tournament.
“We’re getting up for 8 a.m. video game and we come out here and there are multiple cars and trucks broken into,” Forte stated. “We got to the field and we learnt there was a referee who got his automobile broken into at another hotel.”
Forte stated the smash and grabs ruined the trip for many households.
“What was expected to be a terrific opportunity to be down here between the vacations and beautiful bright Florida isn’t,” Forte stated.
Brian Adamski, from Pittsburgh, invested most of his day and a number of hundred dollars to have his side window repaired.
“It’s simply senseless, it’s ineffective that this happened, it’s such a trouble for everyone,” Adamski stated. “They’ll take $3 and some change out of my automobile when if they would have walked by, if we would have seen them, we would have handed it to them.”
Glass Installer “Dave” from The Car Glass Shop began repairing windows at 6 a.m. Monday.
“They’re costing people cash constantly,” Dave stated. “And a few of individuals have insurance coverage but typically insurance coverage does not cover glass on the side. They’re costing people cash big time.”
Forte stated a number of children on the soccer group are on monetary help.
He and other coaches are using up a collection for the households. Click here to donate.Source: clickorlando.com
